When is it time for hospice care?
We know that making the right choice is important for you. Generally, it is time for hospice when doctors are offering a prognosis of 6 months or less. It is better to begin hospice care early rather than late. Many people are referred too late to fully benefit from all the services offered through hospice.
Who is eligible for hospice care?
Those diagnosed with a life-limiting condition with a prognosis of 6 months or less, should the disease follow its natural course.
Those with illnesses in which curative measures are no longer effective, appropriate, or desired.
Families and caregivers of these loved ones.
It is not necessary to be homebound to receive hospice care.
