It is our work to step into the most tender moments faced by a family.
We show up when our clients feel the deepest loss and the most profound grief.
In our 25 years of supporting families in these most difficult times, we’ve
learned a few things: We’ve learned that how we serve matters.
That the family heals when the family participates.
That warmth, personal touch, and kindness create moments of deep catharsis.
We recognize the various emotions that occur at the time of death and hold a
sacred space for families to experience these emotions.
We promote the emotional and spiritual well-being of the surviving family by not
rushing the departure of the deceased.
We encourage families to light candles, play music, give a toast, tell stories,
dress their loved one in a departure outfit.
We reverence the manner in which the deceased is transported. We rarely cover
the face and use beautiful quilts as a sign of respect.
We play their favorite music as we transport.
